In this 2 hour video-based course you will learn why cleansing and fasting are considered so important from an Ayurvedic perspective. As part of this, you'll be taught, in detail, the Ayurvedic understanding of the disease process and the root cause of all disease.

You'll learn how Ayurvedic cleansing and fasting differs from other approaches and why this is so important. As part of this, you'll learn about the three physiological intelligences in the body (Vata, Pitta and Kapha) and the roles they play as well as the basis of our immune system (Ojas) and how this is nourished.

You'll learn how to incorporate cleansing into your daily life through the support of your digestive fire (Agni). As part of this, you'll learn a tridoshic approach (suitable for all body types) to Ayurvedic nutrition as well as some important lifestyle tips.

You'll learn about Ayurveda's unique approach to deeper cleansing and rejuvenation, known as Panchakarma - how and why it works and how to go about it in a way that makes it most effective.

You'll learn about the benefits of intermittent fasting and will be given an alternative version of the 5:2 fast diet - an Ayurvedically friendly version that is super easy and fun to follow - The Ayurvedic 4:2:1 Diet!

And last but not least, you'll be given a simple 5 day Cleansing Program, with recipes, that is safe for all constitutions to carry out. This is particularly recommended at seasonal junctures (especially Spring and Autumn/Fall), but can be done at any time.

Ayurvedic Practitioner, Naturopath and Herbalist

Kester has been practicing as a Naturopath and Western Herbalist in Australia since 1996. In 2000 whilst living in India he fell ill with a chronic gut parasite. He applied all the natural medicine he knew to heal himself but it didn’t work. He went to Western Doctors and even the strong pharmaceuticals they prescribed didn’t work. It was only after seeing an Ayurvedic Practitioner in Adelaide and implementing some simple dietary changes and taking Ayurvedic herbal formulas that he actually got better. And quickly! He was hooked - finally a system of medicine that had the answers and could help him to help his clients.

Since that experience, Kester has studied Ayurvedic Medicine through the American Institute of Vedic Studies (Dr Frawley), the Australasian Institute of Ayurvedic Studies (Dr Ajit) and Equals International. He spent six months gaining clinical experience at the Ayurvedic Research Institute and with Private Doctors in Pune, India and spent several years studying pulse and prescribing with Ayushakti Ayurveda (Dr Smita Naram). He continues his studies with various Ayurvedic Teachers both in Australia and abroad.

Kester ran a successful family health clinic in South Australia for over a decade before moving to Northern NSW in late 2009 to help found the Mudita Institute.  For the last 10 years he has offered Ayurvedic Consultations through the Mudita Health Clinic as well as a variety of courses on Ayurveda throughout Australia. He is particularly passionate about supporting Australian graduates of Ayurveda as they start out in practice.
